Reviews

Sophie (Lenny's Guardian)

"Margaret and Ruth were amazing and wonderful to work with. They are clearly so experienced and extremely generous with their time and knowledge. Lenny learned so much in her 5 week Level One training course, and is continuing to work on being a good girl!"

Gwen (Luna's Guardian)

"Dog owners need training too! This course is well paced with the best resource trainers and coaches ever.  Your dog will have fun and your eyes will be opening to how you can be a better dog owner. Old dogs can learn new tricks."

Magda (Saint's Guardian)

"Very interactive class, continuous interaction with the dogs. There is no dull moment.  All dogs are doing tasks at all times.

I liked how a bunch of big reactive dogs could be in the same room learning to behave and there were zero incidents.

Clear and easy to follow instructions.  Positive reinforcement and rewards techniques that works very well.

Margaret and Ruth show passion and care. The volunteers are very friendly and interact with the dogs at all times.  Before I joined the class I had an hour phone call with Aidan, offered with the adoption package.  Aidan told me few very simple but effective techniques for few issues I had with my dog.  Overall, everyone is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Amazing class !!! Thank you all so much !"

" Margaret and Ruth are fantastic.  They are down to earth, practical and you can really feel how sincerely they want to help dogs and owners.  Working with the high school handlers is great as well, they provide lots of helping hands, blocking, and distraction.  The small classes and tailored help, for any particular challenges you may have with your dog, is amazing.  I'll be signing up again! "

"As we began working with Margaret and Ruth we quickly realized they were of an entirely new caliber compared to any of the rescuers and trainers we had previously dealt with.  We were immediately impressed with their organizational skills, professionalism, and their empathetic no nonsense approach to animal rescue.  As we spent more time with them in group training classes and private sessions to work on specific behaviors we were consistently amazed by their ability to shape behavior through a calm, assertive, positive approach to troubled dogs.

I’ve heard it said before that dogs as a species have a special, perhaps unique ability to forgive, to forget, to overcome, to connect us to nature, and to love without condition; all with an aptitude that many humans would struggle to match.  They live utterly in the moment and encourage us to do the same.  Perhaps not surprisingly, Margaret and Ruth have incorporated these same values in their approach to animal rescue."

Suzanna Su (Doughy's guardian)

" As new pet parents of a rescued dog, we had an amazing experience training our furbaby with ARC's Rescues team. Their continuous patience and extensive knowledge of dogs' behaviour made us feel safe and confident to build a better relationship and understanding with our dog. Margaret and Ruth were great teachers, along with their supportive team of volunteers. We highly recommend this training program for any dog parents! ."

Leanne (Roxy's guardian)

" ARC is an incredible resource that supports both you as the human and your dog! No matter the state your dog is in, they are able to give concrete and honest suggestions to ensure positive and successful training. While I recognize that my knowledge of training is quite low (ok, non-existent), there was never a time that they made me feel inadequate. They meet your dog where they are at (for mine, quite low and anxious) and show such love and compassion. I was recommended to ARC from someone else with the feedback of "they won't sugar coat it like some other trainers", which proved to be accurate" and so appreciated. I would fully endorse this program. It is both affordable and incredibly helpful!

"What I liked most about training my dog with Margaret and Ruth is the patience and encouragement of the instructors; simple strategies, good teaching."

Yoshimi and Scott (Mini's guardians)

"I liked the small dog to trainer ratios and the extra helpers."

Freddy (student)

"I admit that I was not a superhero until I joined ARC.  After joining, it was the first time I felt that I could change the world forever with my strength, just because I was taught to see things from the animals' perspectives."

Jonathan and Katrina

"Good mix of practice and instruction! Great class."
